How to Treat Mold on Bathroom Ceilings & Walls

- 1). Mix one cup of warm water with 1/4 cup household bleach in a spray bottle and mix gently. Set the nozzle to spray, not stream.
- 2). Wear rubber gloves, goggles and old clothes, just in case some of the bleach solution gets on you. Spray the moldy areas just enough to dampen but not drip. Within minutes you should see the mold fading. Repeat if necessary until the mold can no longer be seen. Let surfaces dry completely before proceeding to next step.
- 3). Stir the contents of a paint sealer solution. Apply a light coat of the paint solution over the areas that you cleaned with the bleach, using a one-inch paintbrush. Let it dry at least one hour and then do a second coat. This prevents the mold from coming through again.
- 4). Touch up the areas with your bathroom paint color using a one-inch paintbrush.
