How to Buff Scratches From Corian
- 1). Wash the Corian counter top with a damp cloth to remove any food residue or dirt that may be around the scratch.
- 2). Apply either a 220-grit auto body or 60-mic sandpaper onto a random orbital sander. Cover the sander with the paper and tighten it into place with the latches on the sander. It is possible to sand down the scratch by hand, but it will take much more work.
- 3). Spray water lightly onto the scratch in the Corian. Turn on the random orbital sander by plugging it into an outlet and switching on the power. It is important to keep the scratch area damp. This prevents the Corian dust from kicking up into your face.
- 4). Sand in an overlapping pattering over the scratch. This keeps all the Corian surface around the scratch looking uniform. Continue the process until the scratch has been removed.
- 5). Clean off the area with a damp rag to remove any dust created from the sander.
- 6). Wipe off the area with a Scotch-Brite pad. Rub the scratched area with a circular motion. This removes any dullness the sandpaper created and restore the full luster of the Corian counter top.
