How to Clean Plastic Window Frames
- 1). Clean the outside of your window frames by spraying off residual dirt and grime with the spray nozzle of a garden hose. Be sure to get the corners and underneath the frame well, where debris accumulates.
- 2). Mix together in a spray bottle 1 teaspoon of dish detergent with 1/2 cup of bleach, filling container with warm water. Spritz the inside grooves of the plastic frame well and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
- 3). Scrub tough areas gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush or other soft brush and rinse well with the garden hose. Examine frames for any remaining stains. Apply sprayer solution again to needed areas and repeat.
- 4). Remove rust stains from your plastic window frame by applying a commercial rust remover, such as Rust Off, directly on stain; let sit according to manufacturer's directions and rinse well with clean water. Allow to air dry.
- 1). Open the windows, vacuuming the inside tracts to remove dust and dirt. Follow up the sides and top and bottom of frames with the duster brush, cleaning well.
- 2). Carefully apply the bleach/soap mixture to the grooves and outside of the frames, being careful to avoid walls and other painted surfaces nearby. Wipe any runoff with a cloth
- 3). Scrub in between grooves with a soft-bristled toothbrush and rinse with warm clean water on a damp rag. Inspect frames for any residual staining.
- 4). To remove stains such as crayon marks, black tar and pencil marks, spray Endust cleaner directly on stain, removing with a clean cloth.
- 5). Clean lipstick and oil stains not removed with spray solution with Soft Scrub cleanser on a cloth; rub carefully with a soft cloth until stain is removed, rinsing with clean water on a damp cloth. Rust can be removed with the commercial rust remover following the manufacturer's directions.
