How to Get Rid of a Durian Smell in the Fridge

- 1). Fill a bowl with baking soda and set in the refrigerator. If desired, fill two bows with baking soda and put one bowl on the top shelf and the other on the bottom shelf. Replace the baking soda every few days until the durian smell disappears.
- 2). Put a few pieces of bamboo charcoal or pandan leaves in the drawers of the refrigerator. Bamboo charcoal deodorizes and pandan leaves overpower the durian odor. It takes several days for the charcoal to remove the smell.
- 3). Sprinkle some ground coffee into a bowl and put it in the refrigerator. Coffee's strong scent takes about two days to neutralize durian odor.
- 4). Cut up a large lemon. Leave lemon wedges or peels on each shelf in the refrigerator. Other citrus fruits, such as lime and orange, work as well.
