- 1). Pry up the quarter-round molding on the bottom of any wall. The quarter-round molding hides the gap between the wall and the floor. This gap is necessary to ensure that the planks have room to "float," and it also makes it very convenient to pull up the floor. Slip your pry bar just beneath a section of quarter-round, and then place a small piece of scrap wood beneath it to use as leverage.
- 2). Push down on the end of your crowbar to pull up the quarter-round. If you want to remove the Pergo from your room completely, first remove all the quarter-round from at least one wall to make the job go more quickly.
- 3). Lift up on one of the exposed edges of the outermost Pergo planks. Use the curved end of your pry bar to pull up the edge if necessary. As you pull up on the plank, also pull outward. This will "unlock" the plank from the plank next to it.
- 4). Repeat this pull up, pull out process for the remaining planks that you want to remove.
