How to Clean an Electric Stove Top
- 1). Remove all of the knobs and clean them with a strong solution of the degreaser cleaner and a sponge. Using hot water will aid in removing any grease.
- 2). Remove the burners and the burner pans. Put the burner pans in a pail that has a strong solution of degreaser cleaner and hot water, and let soak while you clean the rest of the stove top.
- 3). Spray the stove top with the degreaser and hot water solution, and let stand 5 minutes. While waiting, scrub the burner pans using the steel wool to remove all of the cooked-on food particles. Rinse with hot water and towel dry.
- 4). Clean the stove top by wiping with the sponge; the cleaner you sprayed on 5 minutes ago should have loosened up any dried-on food. On most stoves, you can lift up the stove top so that you can clean the outside edges and the surface underneath the stove top.
- 5). Wipe the stove top and the stove surface behind the knobs with glass cleaner and paper towels. This gives a spotless, streakless shine to the surface.
- 6). Line each of the burner pans with aluminum foil. This makes future spills and boilovers easy to clean up after--just remove and replace the foil as needed.
Put the burner pans and burners back in place. Put the knobs back on, and you're done.
