- 1). Lay the apron out flat on an ironing board or other work surface. Draw a line horizontally across the front of the apron, about 3 inches down from the top edge using the ruler and pencil. Continue working downward and draw four more lines, approximately 6 inches apart.
- 2). Measure each of the lines and add 1 inch to each measurement. Cut out five pieces of ribbon for each of the five measurements. Be sure to add 1 inch to each measurement.
- 3). Center the top ribbon onto the front of the apron matching up the top edge of the ribbon with the top pencil line. There should be half an inch of ribbon over each side of the apron. Pin the ribbon in place by pinning the top and bottom edges. Fold under the 1/2-inch ribbon on each side so it is even with the edges of the apron. Pin in place. Repeat for all the ribbons.
- 4). Sew the ribbons in place. Stitch close to the top and bottom edges and turned under sides of the ribbons. Iron if needed.
