Parents can throw a graduation party for children graduating from elementary school, junior high, high school or college. The food that you serve for the party depends on the age group of the graduates. You can include an elegant spread for sophisticated college graduates or fun snacks for younger partiers. - Younger children love a graduation celebration in their honor. Consider serving special cupcakes with a mortar board topping or Fruit Roll-Ups fashioned to look like diplomas. The graduation spread should include vegetables and dips, chips and cheese. You can serve small sandwiches at the graduation party as a snack or as a main meal.
- The tastes of high school graduates may be more sophisticated than younger students. Create diplomas with sandwich wraps and a variety of fillings rolled up to resemble the precious document. Cut the sandwich wrap into a square shape and use the leftover bread to create a tie for the diplomas. Cupcakes or a large cake with the high school colors is a sweet snack for the party. Serve pizza snacks, burritos, nachos and a variety of salads including fruit salad, green salad and coleslaw to accompany the sandwiches.
- Snacks for a college graduation party could include skewers with vegetables, fruits, meets and cheese. Arrange skewers with toothpicks and flat bread to create a mix of salty and sweet foods in one bite. Include strawberries, cheese, kiwi, olives and mustard on flatbread for an interesting taste mix. Cherry tomatoes filled with a cream cheese sauce are a bite-size snack for a college graduation party. Serve pasta salad, bacon-wrapped dates and mixed nuts on the table for a college graduation party. While the snacks may be more sophisticated for a college graduation party, no celebration is complete without a cake. Serve an elegant cake with the colors from the graduate's school.
