Child Yoga Training

    Differences

    • A couple of differences exist between the way children practice yoga and the way adults practice yoga. The focus of yoga when children practice is more on fun of the poses rather than targeting specific areas of the body or emphasizing the meditative aspects. Also, children will require gentler poses than many adults can handle.

    Benefits

    • Teaching children yoga from a young age will encourage them to find it fun. They may also become more able to cope with difficulties in school. Likewise, their concentration can improve, much as studies have shown with other forms of meditation. Yoga is sometimes used for children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

    Focus

    • Children will focus on different aspects of yoga when they practice. Often they will simply do it because it is fun. Teaching yoga to children can teach them the importance of a regular exercise program. This can be beneficial as they grow up and move into more demanding yoga routines.
