How to Increase Your Activity by Ten Minutes

    • 1). Park your car at the far end of the parking lot instead of as close to the building as you can get. This should give you two to three minutes of extra walking.

    • 2). Take the stairs when you get inside the building instead of waiting for the elevator. Depending on the amount of stairs there are to your office, this can add up to a few extra minutes of activity.

    • 3). Help your co-workers by volunteering to take their papers to the photocopy room, get them a drink from the water cooler or hand deliver a memo instead of emailing it.

    • 4). Walk to the farther bathroom instead of the closest one every time you need to use it.

    • 5). Jog or walk in place at your desk as you read emails or check memos that don't require heavy concentration.
