    Common Side Effects

    • Several common side effects may occur from taking Azilect. These side effects are often minor, and usually go away soon after you begin taking the medication. However, if you find that any of these side effects are particularly persistent or troublesome, inform your doctor. These side effects are upset stomach, dry mouth, diarrhea, headache, signs of the flu, drowsiness, dizziness, feeling lightheaded, joint ache, stuffy nose and insomnia.

    Serious Side Effects

    • Serious side effects, though unlikely, are also a possibility with taking Azilect. If you notice any signs of serious side effects, get emergency medical assistance. Some of these side effects include abnormal nausea or throwing up, sexual desire or ability changes, depression, disorientation, confusion, extreme headache, changes in the skin, stiff or sore neck, blurry vision, bloody or dark stools, blood being inside of the urine, irregular or rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, fever, not being able to sit still, tingling or numbness of the feet or the hands, speech or vision issues, abnormal sweating, difficulty walking or thinking, weakness on one side of the body, enlarged pupils, seizures, light sensitivity and chest ache.

    Allergic Reactions

    • Severe allergic reactions are a possible Azilect side effect. If you have allergic reactions to the medicine, you need to immediately get medical help. Some signs of allergic reaction to the medication are trouble with breathing, chest heaviness or tightness, hives, skin rash, and swelling of certain body parts (like the face, tongue, lips, and mouth).

    Warnings

    • Azilect is not a suitable or safe medication for everybody. Certain people should avoid this medicine, such as those who had surgery up to 2 weeks beforehand, those with an adrenal gland tumor, and those with liver disease. It is important that you notify your doctor of any and all medical conditions that you might have, and any food or medicine allergies.

    Overdose

    • Azilect overdose requires emergency medical assistance, as it could cause some serious consequences. Some signs of Azilect overdose include sweating, clammy or cold skin, uneven and rapid heartbeats, convulsions, fainting, vision problems extreme headache, drowsiness, irritability, agitation and shallow breathing.
