Simple Ideas for a 16th Birthday Party

    Dance Club

    • If your daughter and her friends enjoy dancing and like to watch television shows that feature dance clubs, you can easily turn your home into a dance club for her 16th birthday party. Choose a room to turn into a dance club, and move all of the furniture from the middle of the floor. Put a stereo in the room, and set up a few inexpensive strobe lights that can be purchased at a local party store. Provide some music you know is popular with your child and her friends, and tell guests to bring their own music as well.

    Gifts

    • Once you have planned the 16th birthday party, you can add to the festivities by presenting your son with 16 small gifts to signify his milestone birthday. The gifts can be anything from favorite movies on DVDs to a small model replica of the car he wants. Make sure all of the party guests are gathered around to help share in the opening of the gifts.

    Red Carpet

    • If your child is a movie fan and enjoys the glamor of Hollywood, add a couple of small touches to make the 16th birthday party a Hollywood event. Roll a red carpet out for guests can walk on as they enter the party, and have someone announce them as they enter. Use a video camera to do interviews with people as they walk up the red carpet, and then create a 16th birthday party video for your child to keep.
