- Drink lime juice. Limes are full of vitamin C, which is known for preventing sore joints by strengthening the connective tissue. The citric acid of limes acts as a solvent for the uric acid that causes gout. Simply squeeze the juice from half a lime into an 8-ounce glass of water twice a day.
- Juice raw vegetables to treat gout. A combination of carrots, beets and cucumber is very effective.
Taking about 150 ml of juiced French beans daily can also help. - Take Epsom salt baths for instant comfort for painful, inflamed joints. Patients should take at least two salt baths daily at the beginning of treatment, then gradually scale back to twice a week.
- Avoid or drastically reduce your intake of foods containing purine and uric acid, such as meat, eggs, fish, coffee, sugar, white flour, alcohol and processed and fried foods. This can help cure gout and reduce the number of attacks.
