• 1). Turn your computer on.
  
  
• 2). Plug your printer into a power source and then turn the printer on.
  
  
• 3). Plug the printer's USB cable into the USB port on the printer and then plug the other end into an open USB port on your computer. Windows Update will activate automatically and install the driver software.
  
  
• 4). Wait until a prompt appears stating "Your devices are ready to use." Close the prompt window.
  
  

Other Operating Systems

• 1). Go to the HP Officejet 4215xi All-in-One Printer webpage (see Resources).
  
  
• 2). Click "Software & Driver Downloads," select your operating system from the drop-down list and then click "Next." A list of updates will appear.
  
  
• 3). Click the plus (+) sign in front of the "Driver" category, click the "Download" button and save the file to your hard drive.
  
  
• 4). Double-click on the driver installer after the download is complete to launch a driver installation wizard. Follow the instructions of the wizard to complete driver installation.
