How to Celebrate Halloween in Jacksonville

    • 1). Go on a St. Augustine Ghost Tour. Voted the number one guided ghost tour in Florida, the St. Augustine ghost tour will lead you across the city while pointing out haunted areas. You can choose between the driving, sailing or walking tours. Do more than one for a well-rounded experience.

    • 2). Throw a costume party! Kids and adults of all ages love to get dressed up on Halloween. Throwing a party while on vacation--or at your home if you are a local--is a really cool idea. Other families on vacation are certain to join in your festivities. Be sure to have Halloween-themed games and food. Don’t forget to play spooky party music!

    • 3). The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will host its annual Spooktacular event all during the month of October. The event features live entertainment and an enchanted forest. It also includes plenty of fun things for families to partake in. Kids are more than welcome to enjoy this safe, fun Halloween event.

    • 4). Trick or treat at one of Jacksonville’s many malls. At shopping malls like the Avenues and the Orange Park Mall, you can be assured that your kids can trick or treat safely in a fun, festive setting.

    • 5). Visit the Skull Castle Haunted House. This fun haunted house is located on San Jose Boulevard. Some nights will even be geared towards younger children with not-so-scary events.

    • 6). Try the Hall of Terror at Adventure Landing. The event includes a Haunted River Ride and a haunted house. Adventure Landing is also featuring a “Hall-o-Wee” zone just for kids.

    • 7). Visit the 5 Points Halloween Ball. Enjoy live music, costume contests and dancing. You want to get dressed up in your Halloween best for this one. Elegant attire adds to the ambiance of this ball.

    • 8). See a midnight horror movie. The San Marco theater is well-loved in the area for playing classic horror films on Friday nights all throughout the month of October.
