- 1). Insert the loop at the end of the leader through the ring on a swivel, the snap on a snap swivel or through a loop of line.
- 2). Thread the hook through the loop at the end of the leader.
- 3). Pull on the hook until all the leader slides through the loop.
- 1). Tie the leader to a swivel or snap swivel using a Trilene knot.
- 2). Insert the end of the leader through the swivel or snap swivel and pull a few inches of line through.
- 3). Double the line around and insert it through the same side of the swivel, forming a small loop.
- 4). Wrap the end of the leader around the main part of the leader eight or nine times.
- 5). Insert the end of the leader through the loop.
- 6). Lubricate the knot with saliva and pull on the main body of the leader to tighten the knot.
- 7). Trim the tag end of the knot with a pair of nail clippers or scissors. Leave about 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch for security in case the knot slips.
