Bosch Dishwasher Leak Repair
- 1). Turn off the electricity going to your Bosch dishwasher. You may need to do this in your whole-house circuit breaker box.
- 2). Pump any sitting water out of the bottom of your dishwasher with a hand pump or siphon.
- 3). Check the door gasket to see if it is worn or damaged. Replace the door gasket if this is the case. Remove the old gasket by pulling it out, and slip the new one in its place. Applying some petroleum jelly to the flange on the new gasket may make it easier to insert.
- 4). Take off the front panel on the bottom of the dishwasher. Depending on the model, you may need to remove the screws that hold it in place with a screwdriver, or you may just need to lift the front panel off. Look for the hose and where it connects to the dishwasher. Try to tighten this connection by turning it to the right with an adjustable wrench.
- 5). Check to see if water is leaking beneath the inside door cover. Open the door, and remove the inside cover of the dishwasher door from the outside of the door, following to the manufacturer's directions. If the insulation inside the door is wet, the soap dispenser may be leaking, and you'll need a new one.
- 6). Take off the wash arm in the bottom of the dishwasher by unscrewing the connection underneath with an adjustable wrench. Remove the screw at the front of the pump with an adjustable wrench. Then remove the clamp holding the pump to the sump. Remove the screw in the front, and let the pump drop down. Remove the clamp holding the connector to the pump. Install a new connector according to the manufacturer's directions. Reverse your steps to put everything back into place.
- 7). Take off the sump pump by unscrewing the screw on the front with an adjustable wrench. Loosen the clamp holding the pump in place with the wrench. Take off the hoses, and pull the sump out. Replace it with a new sump, and reverse your steps to reconnect it.
- 8). Remove the clip at the end of the shaft connected to the drain solenoid. Unscrew the push nut on the solenoid with a socket wrench, and remove the drain solenoid. Pry off the seal with the screwdriver. Put the new seal in its place, and screw the push nut on with the socket wrench. Continue replacing parts in the reverse order you took them off.
