How Do I Set the Appearance on My Computer?

    Windows Vista

    • 1). Go to your desktop and right-click anywhere on the screen. Select "Personalize."

    • 2). Choose the "Window Color and Appearance" link to change the colors for windows, the Start menu and the task bar.

    • 3). Select "Open Classic Appearance Properties for more Color Options." Select "Advanced" from the Appearance Settings dialog box to access advanced appearance options such as changing your desktop color. Select "OK" to save.

    Windows XP

    • 1). Right-click anywhere on your desktop. Choose "Properties." Select "Appearance."

    • 2). Choose "Windows Classic Style" from the Windows and Buttons list for access to more style choices.

    • 3). Choose "Color Scheme" from the drop-down menu. Click on the color combination to preview it in the top box. Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save your settings.

    • 4). Select "Advanced" for more detailed options such as font style and size. The "Advanced Appearance" box will appear. Go to the "Item" menu and choose the item you would like to change. Select "OK" to save.
