How to Unlock My BlackBerry 8100

    Standby Lock/Unlock

    • 1). Press down and hold the "Mute" button located at the top of the phone.

    • 2). Allow a few seconds for the "Entering Standby Mode. Press the Mute Key Again to Exit Standby Mode" to pop up. Your phone is now locked in Standby Mode.

    • 3). Press the "Mute" button again to unlock Standby Mode.

    Keyboard Lock/Unlock

    • 1). Press the "BlackBerry Home Screen" button on your phone.

    • 2). Scroll down and highlight the "Lock" icon. This icon is the Keyboard Lock if a Password Lock has not been setup.

    • 3). Press your trackball or trackpad to select "Keyboard Lock." Your keypad and phone is now locked.

    • 4). Press any key to open the "Keypad is Locked" dialog box.

    • 5). Press the "Star" key, then the green "Answer" key to unlock your phone.

    Password Lock/Unlock

    • 1). Press the "BlackBerry Home Screen" button on your phone. Select the "Options" icon within the Home screen menu.

    • 2). Select "Security Options" from the Options list. Then, select "General Settings" within the Options--Security menu.

    • 3). Click "Enable" in the Password Settings box. Press the "Back Arrow" button, and select "Save."

    • 4). Type in the password that you'd like to use for your phone in the "Password" box. Retype your password in the "Verify Password" box, and exit the Options menu. From the Home screen, select the "Lock" icon to lock your phone.

    • 5). Press any command button on your phone to open the Device is Locked dialog box. Select "Unlock," then type in your password to successfully unlock your phone.
