- 1). Open the "Start" menu. Go to "All Programs," "Accessories," then "Sound Recorder."
- 2). Click "Start Recording" on the sound recorder to begin recording your sound file.
- 3). Click "Stop Recording" when you have recorded the sound you want.
- 4). Type in the name and location where you want to save your sound file. After that, you can edit, copy or email the sound recording as you want using Microsoft Windows or third-party applications.
