The Best Fishing Bivvy For Winter

Buying a bivvy for winter conditions is becoming easier and easier these days with the improved construction technology which now exists in the world of bivvy manufacturing. Lightweight Aerospace grade aluminium poles combined with surprisingly light heavy duty fabric means that it is now possible to buy a bivvy that will protect you in the harshest of winter months and won't require a team of strong men in order to transport it!

Given the nature of over night session fishing the bivvy can truly be seen at times as your home away from home, so it's important to make sure the one choose to buy matches the needs that you require. If you're planning to fish in the colder months of the year then your requirements become more important as it's no longer just about a few kgs here or there or a few cms extra space but also about the level of protection you can provide yourself from the harshest of winter weather. As an angler who's been caught out before in some awful conditions with tackle and shelter that wasn't built to withstand those conditions I can't stress how crucial it is not to make the same mistake as it can be an absolute nightmare.

When recommending a bivvy for the winter numerous models spring to mind, such as the ever brilliant Nash Titan, the TF Gear Force 8 range and Chub's Vizor bivvy, the latter two available in a 1 man bivvy model or a 2 man bivvy model. These are all great models because clearly no shortcuts have been taken in the quality of materials used in the construction of them. The heavily tested fabrics, like the Titan's new generation armoured nylon cover, on these bivvies will keep the inside well guarded from all that mother nature will throw at you in her harshest winter moods!

One thing to also bear in mind is the option of a winter bivvy wrap that's available for a lot of the bivvy models on the market. For most it is often the best decision if you don't want to buy two separate bivvies (as in one for summer and one for winter) because you can buy a normal high quality bivvy model and then get a winter wrap for it to use during the winter months when you go fishing.

At the end of the day, you pay for what you get with a bivvy, as with most things, and in order to get a bivvy strong enough to withstand the conditions you will probably have to pay towards the higher end of the market in order to cover this requirement, let me tell you now that the extra pennies spent are entirely worth it!
