The first computers were simple and human-operated, such as the abacus that dates back to the B.C. era. The first electronic computer was built in 1945, and it was not the modest-size machine we know today. The modern computer has three types of memory modules that allow you to save your data as well as allow your computer to run more efficiently. - This memory module is created by Intel and Rambus. The purpose of these memory modules is to increase the memory's access speed. RDRAM has 184 pins and is capable of giving the computer 1.6 GB of information in batches of 16 bits.
- SIMM stands for Single In-Line Memory Module. SIMMs can hold chips, especially those that are soldered to the PCB. SIMMs can can have 30 to 72 pins. The 30-pin SIMMs transfer 8 bits of information, while the 72-pin SIMMs transfer 30 bits of information.
- DIMM stands for Dual In-Line Memory Modules. DIMM have the capacity to have two lines of chips. These memory modules are able to contain twice as much as the SIMM as well as can transmit information in 64 bits.
