- 1). Place one business card between the two blades above the point of contact -- the point where the blades meet the soil. Place the other card at the bottom of the blades below the point of contact.
- 2). Remove the shim from the first blade's double-disk opener with the screwdriver.
- 3). Measure the distance between the blades. If it is not 2 to 2 ½ inches the shim in the second blade's double-disk opener should be removed as well. Measure the blades again.
- 4). Screw the double-disk opener back in place.
