How to Respool a Weed Eater
- 1). Hold the trimmer head of the Weed Eater string trimmer with one hand and pull on the tap button with the other hand. Continue pulling to remove the spool cartridge from the trimmer head.
- 2). Pull any remaining old line from the spool cartridge and discard.
- 3). Cut a 30-foot length of 0.065-inch diameter trimmer line from a trimmer line filler spool.
- 4). Insert one end of the 30-foot length of line into the small hole on the side of the Weed Eater spool cartridge.
- 5). Wind the trimmer line onto the cartridge in the direction indicated by the arrow on the cartridge. Wind the line securely but do not pull the line tight as this can prevent the line from properly feeding during operation.
- 6). Leave 6 inches of the line extending from the cartridge. Attach the line to the small retaining clip on the side of the cartridge.
- 7). Feed the end of the extended line through the line guide on the side of the Weed Eater trimmer head. Push the spool cartridge securely in place. Pull on the extended trimmer line so it is disengaged from the retaining clip and is ready for use.
