How to Copy Music From a Computer to iPod

    • 1). Download the latest version of the free iTunes application from Apple. Click the "Download Now" button and then click "Save" in the confirmation pop-up to save the setup file to your computer. Double-click the saved file and click "Yes" to execute it. Follow the step-by-step instructions of the Installation Wizard to install the software to your computer.

    • 2). Connect the iPod to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The iTunes application will start automatically upon connection and will prompt you to register your device. Click the "Register Later" button to proceed with copying files to the iTunes library.

    • 3). Click the "File" option of the iTunes application and then "Add File to Library." Browse to the location on your computer to find the music file you want to copy to the iPod and double-click it to save the file in the iTunes library.

    • 4). Repeat the process for all of the music files you want to copy to your iPod. If you have stored the files in a folder, choose "Add Folder to Library" in step 3 to copy all of the files at once.

    • 5). Click on your iPod's name in the left pane of the iTunes application and then the "Sync" button in the right pane. Syncing your iPod with the iTunes library will copy all of the added files to the device's hard drive.

    • 6). Click the "Eject" button next to the iPod's name in the left pane once syncing is done, and disconnect the iPod when prompted by the application.
