How to Clean Porcelain Stove Grates

    • 1). Remove the porcelain-coated stove grates. Place them in the kitchen sink.

    • 2). Place the sink stopper in the drain. Add 3 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid soap and fill the sink three-quarters of the way full with hot water.

    • 3). Soak the grates in the hot water for 30 minutes. Use a mesh scrubber to remove grease and food from the grates. Wash debris off the grates with a washcloth.

    • 4). Place the porcelain stove grates on a towel to air-dry. If the grates do not appear clean, you can treat them with vinegar.

    • 5). Pour 3 cups of white vinegar into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave it until it feels warm.

    • 6). Pour the vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray the porcelain stove grates with the vinegar. Allow them to soak for 20 minutes.

    • 7). Scrub the grates with a mesh scrubber. Rinse them off with clean water and place them on a towel to dry. Place the grill grates back onto the stove top.
