How to Kill Grass in a Gravel Driveway

    Small Patches of Grass

    • 1). Remove vehicles and articles from your driveway which are in proximity to the affected areas.

    • 2). Fill an empty spray bottle with white vinegar. Have newspaper and mulch handy for larger areas that can not be thoroughly saturated with vinegar.

    • 3). Spray the area of grass you wish to kill with the white vinegar. Saturate it as much as possible; the more vinegar the grass comes in contact with, the faster it will die.

    Large Areas of Grass

    • 1). Spread out old newspaper on the patches of grass that you wish to kill. Be sure to cover it thoroughly with the newspaper.

    • 2). Place mulch on top of the newspaper.

    • 3). Place a rock, brick, or something heavy to weigh the newspaper and mulch down. Leave it in place until the grass has died. This process may take a couple of weeks.
