- The cable does not pose a danger aside from a tripping hazard. Telephone cable running to your home is a very low voltage.
- Lawn mowers, pets and small animals are examples of typical dangers to the cable. Animals can easily chew through telephone cable and often do.
- The cable from the pole to the house can be left on the ground, but it's best to give a call to the phone company or a contractor to get the cable off the ground before it is damaged. If the network interface is not on or in the house, the phone company will probably charge you to run the cable to the house.
