Husky Power Washer Instructions

  • 1). Remove the water plug from the high pressure outlet with a pair of pliers and discard it. You will only have to do this if the unit has not been used. The plug is located on the front of the unit, near the bottom.

  • 2). Connect the high pressure hose to the high pressure outlet.

  • 3). Fasten the garden hose to the water inlet at the back of the unit. Some models require the use of a hose quick connector.

  • 4). Attach the other end of the hose to the water supply.

  • 5). Plug the unit into the wall electrical socket. The plug is a ground-fault circuit interrupter. Test the GFCI in the outlet before using the pressure washer. Once the GFCI is plugged in, the indicator light will turn red. Press the test button and be sure the red light disappears. Press "reset" and the unit is ready for use.

  • 6). Turn on the water.

  • 7). Put on safety goggles.

  • 8). Release the lock on the trigger.

  • 9). Depress the trigger on the gun until the water runs in a steady stream.

  • 10

Insert the wand into the quick connect coupling on the spray gun by pushing them together and twisting the wand a quarter turn clockwise. It will lock into place. Pull on the wand to be sure it is locked, otherwise it may come out when you pull the trigger on the spray gun.

  • 11

Pull the trigger on the spray gun.

  • 12

Locate the power button on the front of the pressure washer and turn the unit on.

  • 13

Adjust the pressure by holding the collar on the wand and either pull it completely to the rear for high pressure or to the front of the wand for low pressure.

  • 14

Turn the collar to adjust the type of spray -- counterclockwise to change the spray to a fan and clockwise to turn it to an aggressive pencil-point spray.

  • 15

Remove the plug and fill the reservoir on the back of the machine with detergent or the chemical required. Models vary, so refer to your manufacturer's instructions for more information.

  • 16

Set the collar on the wand to the low pressure setting and the water will automatically mix with the contents of the tank.

  • 17

To clean the remains from the tank, run water through the hose on low pressure until it is pure water. Follow the chemical manufacturer's directions for proper disposal. Failure to clean the tank can lead to clogs and damage.

  • 18

Turn the unit off and disconnect the plug.

  • 19

Shut off the water supply and squeeze the trigger until the water stops.
