Forget-Me-Not Flower Description

    Identification

    • Forget-me-not plants grow to be between 6 and 18 inches tall with an 18- to 24-inch spread. The plant grows in a mound shape. It has grayish green, oval-shaped leaves with a velvety texture. The herb produces clusters of small blue or white flowers in spring or early summer, depending on the variety.

    Cultivation

    • Forget-me-nots occur naturally in cool, wet woodlands and along streambeds. They require full or partial sunlight, cool temperatures and continually moist soil. They grow best in USDA Hardiness Zones 3 through 9. Forget-me-nots propagate from seeds or plant division.

    Considerations

    • Forget-me-nots grow well as container plants, in rock gardens or in flower beds. They are susceptible to gray mold and powdery mildew, as well as rust and attacks by slugs and snails.
