How to Repair a Fuel Line on a Weed Eater Trimmer

    • 1). Drain the fuel out of the fuel tank on the Weed Eater trimmer. The fuel will likely still be usable so you can save it. Add fuel stabilizer to the main reserve fuel tank to help the fuel stay fresh longer.

    • 2). Pull the fuel tank end of the fuel line off of the fuel tank. Pull the carburetor end of the fuel line off of the carburetor. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to make removing the line easier.

    • 3). Cut a piece of new fuel line to the same length as the old piece of fuel line. Discard the old fuel line.

    • 4). Pinch one end of the new fuel line between a pair of needle nose pliers and slide the new line into place on the carburetor. Slide the other end of the fuel line into place on the fuel tank in the same manner.

    • 5). Refill the fuel tank and check the new fuel line for leaks. If there are none, start the Weed Eater trimmer and run it for a few minutes to see if any leaks develop. Apply small hose clamps to the leaking end of the fuel line to stop the leak.
