Chromatic

• The chromatic, also referred to as the Bayan, is a style of accordion in which rows of chromatically arranged buttons occupy the melody-side of the keyboard. With more than one system, the chromatic keyboard offers the accordionist increased fingering opportunities and is ideal for playing technically challenging works as well as chords and melodic music. This style of accordion is most widely used in Russia and has the greatest treble range of all the accordions.
  
  

Concertina

• The concertina is a style of accordion that has a much different shape than other styles. The concertina has a keyboard at each end with each button on the keyboard producing an individual note. Unlike other accordions, the concertina plays no fixed notes and is available in a wide variety of systems, which determines many factors, including the layout and positioning of the buttons, the size and shape of the instrument and the type of sound the instrument plays. The concertina is ideal for entertaining at small group gatherings, as it is lightweight and compact.
  
  

Diatonic

• The diatonic is a style of accordion with a note pattern that is similar to a mouth harmonica and has a high-quality sound output. Each button on the keyboard plays two notes, one when the bellows are open, and one when the bellows are closed. This style of accordion is also simple to use, lightweight and affordable. With these characteristics, the diatonic accordion is one of the most widely used accordions worldwide.
  
  

Piano

• The piano is a style of accordion that is similar to a chromatic accordion in sound and system; however, the piano possesses a different layout of the notes and keyboard. This style of accordion has a universal note system, allowing an accordionist to play a number of different styles without needing to change the system. The piano accordion is the least difficult style to play and accordionists play this style worldwide.
