- 1). Shut down your laptop by clicking "Start" and "Shut Down."
- 2). Disconnect the laptop's battery and AC adapter.
- 3). Flip over your laptop and loosen the screw that secures the memory panel. Lift open the panel.
- 4). Insert the RAM into the slots labeled "JDIM (Slot 1)" and "JDIM2" respectively. There is a notch in the slot to ensure that you insert the chip correctly. You should hear the side latches click when the chip is secured.
- 5). Close the lid and secure it with the screw. Your RAM was not installed properly if your computer does not boot. You'll have to open the panel and install it again.
