- 1). Plug an HDMI cable into the back of your satellite receiver box. The receiver box is the device that needs to be connected to your television in order to receive satellite television signals.
- 2). Connect the HDMI cable to your HDTV. All HDTVs will have at least one HDMI input, and most have several. You can use any HDMI port that isn't being used by another device.
- 3). Turn on your HDTV and your satellite receiver box.
- 4). Press "Menu" on your satellite receiver box's remote control. Navigate to the "Video" settings and select "HDMI" as your video output source. This will make sure that all available video signals that can be broadcast in high definition are transferred to your television that way.
