How to Adjust a Trane Thermostat
- 1). Locate the temperature up and down buttons on the Trane thermostat's face. These buttons will be either two triangles or two squares with pictures of triangles on them. One triangle points up while the other triangle points down. The up triangle increases the temperature setting and the down triangle decreases the temperature setting.
- 2). Push either the up or down triangle, depending on if you wish to raise or lower the temperature. As you push the triangle, watch the number on the thermostat's screen. Stop pushing the triangle once the temperature has been adjusted to your new desired temperature.
- 3). Press the "Hold" key to lock the temperature in. A held temperature overrides a thermostat's program, so make sure to turn the hold off when you wish the thermostat to continue normally. Locate the hold button on either the thermostat's face or open the thermostat's cover and locate it on the keypad. Press the "Hold" button once to lock in your adjusted temperature. Press it again to turn it off.
