How to Use Borax Balls to Kill Ants
- 1). Peel and mince the onion.
- 2). Combine the onion with the flour, borax, sugar and milk. Or combine 3/4 cup onion with 2 tablespoons flour, 7/8 cup borax, 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar and 3/4 teaspoon milk.
- 3). Form the mixture into small balls.
- 4). Allow the balls to dry.
- 5). Place the balls in small cups in areas where you've found ants.
- 6). Replace the balls once a month.
- 1). Mix borax, all-purpose flour and confectioners' sugar into a bowl. Or mix 1 cup borax, 1 cup all-purpose flour, and 1 tablespoon powdered sugar into a bowl.
- 2). Add water a teaspoon at a time until a soft dough forms.
- 3). Roll the dough into small 1/2-inch balls.
- 4). Place the balls in a small cup in an area where you've seen ants.
- 5). Replace the balls once a month.
- 6). Store unused balls in an airtight container.
- 1). Mix borax and honey or corn syrup in a small saucepan.
Or mix 1 teaspoon borax with 1/2 cup corn syrup or honey. - 2). Heat the mixture until the boric acid has dissolved.
- 3). Let the mixture cool.
- 4). Add equal parts water to the borax/syrup mixture.
- 5). Place a small amount of the liquid in a lid where ants will find it.
- 6). Leave the borax/syrup mixture out for two weeks.
