Typical Drinking Water Analysis

    Volatile and Semi-Volatile Organics

    • Volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds are toxins that can cause a wide variety of harmful health issues. They often make their way into drinking water sources from rainwater runoff and chemical spills.

    Metals

    • The EPA recognizes certain metals that are often found in drinking water to be hazardous or fatal if consumed. They include arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, copper, mercury, selenium and nickel.

    Perchlorates

    • Perchlorates are one of the explosive chemicals found in rocket and missile fuel. Traces are often found in drinking water and ground water in at least 43 states.

    TDS

    • TDS, or Totally Dissolved Solids, are any minerals, salts, or anions that have been dissolved in water; most common are calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, chlorides and sulfates.

    Radionuclides

    • Radionuclides are unstable atomic forms of certain elements. Although they often occur naturally in drinking water sources, they can still be harmful if ingested, often increasing the risk of cancer.
