How to Install a Frigidaire Gas Oven Ignitor
- 1). Pull the range away from the wall, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Turn off the range's gas supply, by rotating the handle on the gas valve to the "Off" position.
- 3). Open the oven door, and move the hinge locks to the unlocked position, which is toward the oven door. The hinge locks are located on the door hinges.
- 4). Close the oven door halfway to about the broil-stop position, and lift it off the front of the range. Set the oven door aside.
- 5). Remove the oven racks from the oven.
- 6). Remove the bottom panel of the oven, if replacing the bottom ignitor. The panel is secured using two screws, located on the rear of the panel. Skip this step if replacing the upper ignitor.
- 7). Remove the screws securing the burner shield assembly, and then remove the assembly. The top burner is connected to the burner shield assembly, and removes with the assembly.
- 8). Remove the mounting screws securing the ignitor in place. Pull the ignitor away from the rear wall of the oven, so that the wire connector passes through the wall.
- 9). Disconnect the wire connector and remove the ignitor.

Connect the new ignitor's wire connector, and then tuck the wires behind the rear panel of the oven. - 11
Secure the new ignitor into position using the screws that were removed from the old ignitor. - 12
Replace the burner shield assembly. Use the screws that were originally removed to secure it to the oven. - 13
Replace the lower panel of the oven, if applicable to your installation. - 14
Reinstall the oven racks, and then install the door by reversing the steps taken to remove it. - 15
Close the door, and then restore the oven's gas supply. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. - 16
Move the range back against the wall.
