How to Balance a Hard-Boiled Egg

    • 1). Hard boil an egg. To hard boil, fill a saucepan three-quarters full with water, and bring the water to a boil. Place the egg in the water, and boil for 20 minutes. Drain the water, and allow the egg to cool before touching.

    • 2). Pour 1/2 tsp. of salt on a flat surface. Shape the salt into a small mound.

    • 3). Place the wider portion, considered the bottom, of the egg in the center of the salt. Gently twist the egg back and forth.

    • 4). Let go of the egg very slowly. Gently blow on the salt. Most of the salt will blow away, leaving the egg balanced on the small amount of salt that is trapped underneath it.
