The Creation of Wealth Through Blogging

A blog really is a simple thing.
Anyone can set one up for free and they can show well in the SERPs if optimized for keyword properly.
The problem is that most people don't know how to monetize their blogs in any meaningful way.
Many bloggers generate income from including AdSense ads on their blogs.
This has worked very well for people who can drive huge waves of traffic to their blogs, but this is not an easy undertaking.
If you have a thousand visitors a month you are not going to get rich from your AdSense profits.
Many bloggers also have their own products they promote on their blogs.
This can work exceedingly well, but again you need some good traffic (highly targeted) to your blog to make sales.
Every single major Internet marketer I know has a blog of their own.
They can serve many purposes.
One thing that many savvy marketers do is use their blog as a soft landing page for Web2.
0 traffic.
They will make an interesting post on Facebook or somewhere like that referencing an interesting article they have found.
That article happens to be a recent post on their blog.
Many marketers do the same thing but drive their Web2.
0 traffic to a squeeze page to get opt-ins and then offer a great free download on that squeeze page.
Look, you know you can't market your wares directly on Web2.
0 sites, at least if you want to be able to keep in good standing with the sites and your followers.
But by sending Web2.
0 traffic to your blog, you can opt visitors in and then you are not obliged to soft-sell them at a social site, you can hard sell them every day of the week if you get them to opt in to your list on your blog.
Sure, if you've got 100 followers on Twitter or Facebook your not going to huge amounts of traffic to your blog, but it is possible, with work, to get huge followings on these sites.
Simply make most of your posts or Tweets innocent little thingies, but then--every once in a while sneak a link in to your blog (use some kind of URL shortening utility to disguise and track your link and traffic) and get some hungry buyers to your blog.
people who are pros at this do very, very well!
