How to Heal Red Skin Discoloration

    • 1). Take an allergy medication. Allergy medications are a necessary part of healing rashes or other reactions caused by allergies. Allergies that cause redness or rashes are minor, but if allowed to persist, they can become deadly over time. A basic antihistamine medication is appropriate to reduce and get rid of redness.

    • 2). Apply sunscreen every day. Sunscreen protects the skin from sun damage and tanning, but it is also affective in eliminating redness and allowing the skin to heal. It prevents damage from the sun that might worsen redness from causes other than sunburn.

    • 3). Apply a skin lightening cream. Skin lightening cream is useful after a laser surgery that causes redness. The redness will fade with time as a result of healing and the lightening cream.

    • 4). Talk to a doctor about the possible origin of your skin redness, which can be caused by complications from another medical condition, such as diabetes. The redness can be a sign of problems other than simple allergies.
