How to Convert Faucet Handles to Levers

    • 1). Unscrew the set screw located on top of the handle. It may be under a cap; if so, remove the cap with a small, flat-head screwdriver to gain access to the screw. Use an Allen wrench or screwdriver, depending on the type of set screw.

    • 2). Remove the screw and the faucet handle.

    • 3). Slide the new lever onto the faucet cartridge stem so the stem slides into the center mounting hole on the back of the lever.

    • 4). Insert the new set screw into the lever mounting hole and tighten it once the handle is positioned properly on the cartridge. If the handle droops or is crooked, loosen the set screw and reposition it until it is straight.
