How to Make a Faux Shower Curtain
- 1). Saw a wooden curtain rod in half lengthwise with a band saw.
- 2). Sand down the rough cut edges with medium-grain sandpaper. This will remove any splintering or roughness. Set the curtain rod half aside.
- 3). Cut six plastic shower curtain rings in half using a band saw to create 12 shower curtain halves.
- 4). Insert each shower curtain half into a hole in the shower curtain. There should be 12 halves, one per shower curtain hole.
- 5). Insert a hot glue stick into the end of a hot glue gun, then plug the glue gun into an electrical outlet to heat up for 10 minutes.
- 6). Squeeze a line of hot glue along the entire length of the cut curtain rod, then press the curtain rod against the wall where you want the faux shower curtain to be. Hold the rod horizontally on the wall about 6 feet off of the ground for two minutes to allow the hot glue to cool and harden.
- 7). Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of hot glue onto the cut ends on one of the shower curtain rings, then press the glue-covered ring vertically over the glued-on curtain rod. Hold the ring in place for two minutes to allow the hot glue to cool and harden.
- 8). Glue the remaining cut shower curtain rings onto the wooden curtain rod in the same manner, spacing each ring out by at least 1 inch. Allow the hot glue to cool and harden for two minutes before using the faux shower curtain in your production.
