How to Install Windows XP Pro When the Computer Freezes

    • 1). Shut down the computer. If it is frozen, simply push the "Power" button in or physically unplug the computer.

    • 2). Plug the computer back in and restart the computer. Press the key listed on the screen to enter the BIOS. Find the menu that lists the boot options. Change the CD or DVD drive to be the first boot device. Exit the BIOS and save the changes.

    • 3). Insert the Windows XP Pro CD and restart the computer. Follow the onscreen instructions to install. This will include accepting the license agreement, entering the product key and choosing where on your hard drive to install. You should also choose the option to format the drive. This will cause the loss of all previous programs and data.
