Mississauga is a city in southern Ontario in the Greater Toronto area. It is Canada's sixth-most populous municipality, with a 2010 population of 729,000 people. Its Square One Shopping Center is one of Canada's largest shopping malls, and it hosts an annual cultural festival named Carassauga to celebrate its diverse population. A number of singles clubs are found in Mississauga and nearby areas. Most are clubs for dancing and other activities, with only a few being exclusively for singles. - The X Club caters to couples, single females and pre-screened single males over 25 years of age. Such men are allowed entry on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights, but are limited to 15 per event. On Saturdays, each of the 15 allowed entry must accompany a couple to the club. It has a spacious dance hall that can seat 250 people, giving many the opportunity to learn how to dance. Beginners and experienced dancers alike practice at its weekly public dance events. Food is served by a friendly staff, with a cash bar available on Saturday and Sunday nights. Couples and singles are welcome. A Saturday night dance (7:30 p.m, to midnight) is popular among the 50+ crowd, with many singles attending. Cost is $14 (2010 prices), including a cold buffet. The Sunday night event starts with a hot dinner at 6 p.m., followed by ballroom and latin dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Cost is $17 for dinner and dance, and $10 for dance only.

Singles dances are held each week at Toronto upscale locations where there is usually a disc jockey and, at times, live music. Singles interested in learning dance steps are offered dance lesson, and guests are expected to dress for the occasion.
