Add Appetizers to Your Family Meal and Add Excitement for Food
Appetizers can be such fun.
They are something that aren't necessary, usually not even a part of a typical family meal.
To create one, two or even make an evening meal out of several of these can be a real treat for a busy mom who has run out of meal ideas as well as for a family who knows that mom has just been phoning it in lately.
From time to time, I will do just that.
It's something that can be served anywhere.
On the front porch, in the yard, in the living room all sitting on the floor around the coffee table.
Think about it, have fun with it.
Here are a few fun ideas for your Appetizer meal at home.
Start with crackers or that small bread and cheese, then select 3 or more from the list; canned meat such as sardines, spam, smoked oysters or clams, herring, mackerel, tuna, chicken.
These can be straight from the can or to stretch your budget make a salad out of them.
Add fresh vegetables, such as; carrots, zucchini, squash, artichoke hearts, mushrooms.
Optional, use a dip, such as clam, blue cheese or ranch.
Don't forget, this can also be a way for you to change your reputation among your friends.
Maybe you've been the one who always brings the chips or dinner rolls to the pot luck.
Some of these appetizers look and taste complicated but couldn't be easier.
For the beginner, a starter pot luck item; get a brick of cream cheese and a ready made shrimp cocktail.
Let the cream cheese sit out for a while to soften, do not stir it, leave it in the shape of a block.
At the last minute take the shrimp cocktail out of the fridge and pour it over the cream cheese.
That's it! Add some chips or crackers to eat your new dip with and you'll be the hit of the party.
