  Forestburg is set outside of Edmonton and is a small village in Alberta, Canada. It was first settled in 1905 and soon after became a coal mining town along the banks of the Battle River. This town of just under 900 residents has a nine-hole golf course, an outdoor pool and hot tub, tennis courts, hockey and curling arenas. Finding a place to stay will not be in the city limits, but hotels are located nearby.
  
  

Irma Motel

• The Irma Motel offers its guests kitchenette rooms or just the standard room with microwave and refrigerator. Wireless Internet, cable television, coffee makers and free local calls also are available. The motel is close to many restaurants and bars so dining will not be a problem. Guests will find everything from pizza to Chinese cuisine within walking distance. The motel sits just outside of Edmonton and only 15 minutes from Forestburg.

Killam Krossing Hotel

• Killam Krossing Hotel is nestled in the heart of Battle River Country and just a short distance from Forestburg. The hotel is close to a fitness center, city swimming pool, arenas for curling and hockey, bowling and many other outdoor activities. The rooms all have wireless Internet service, cable television, private baths and irons with ironing boards upon request. The hotel's Smitty's Restaurant will treat guests to casual dining with a flare of Canadian cuisine. After a long day of activities, guests can make their way down to the lounge where they will find a cold beer and enjoy a sports event playing on the large-screen television.

Forestburg Motor Inn

• Forestburg Motor Inn is one of the few hotels in the small village and boasts of being the biggest. The motor inn does not have its own website, so guests will have to call to get more information or book a reservation. The rooms are economically decorated and come with cable television, private baths, free local calls and coffee can be found at the front desk each morning. The close proximity to the golf course, tennis courts and sports arenas makes this hotel a convenient spot to explore the village. Dining will have to be at one of the local restaurants which includes mostly fast-food facilities, but one local cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
