Tips to Help You Choose the Right Mural Design For Your Child"s Room
If you know that you would like a mural for your child's bedroom or playroom but are unsure about what design to go for, I have compiled a list of handy questions to point you in the right direction.
I would recommend jotting down answers to the questions journal style in a notebook or getting someone to ask you each of the following.
Generally, you know when you have hit the right answers as you will feel a sense of clarity or excitement about them! Good luck! THE QUESTIONS: 1) Does your child have a nickname that you could easily theme the room around (eg: princess, bunny, monkey, sweetheart etc).
2) What is your child's favourite illustrated storybook? If you are creating a mural theme for a baby's nursery, you will need to go on what you as parents are drawn to.
3) Does your child have a favourite cartoon character? The same applies as above - if you are creating a baby nursery, choose a cartoon character that you as parents love.
4) Go to a place rich in suitable images, such as a card store or children's library.
Which images speak to you? Which images give you a good feeling? Assemble a little portfolio of "favourites".
5) If your child is old enough to both have and express an opinion, what would your child like? Their input is very important to the process.
6) What would you like your child to feel when they are in the room? What kind of pictures and colours will create this feeling?
