What Can I Do With Seafood Scissors?

Seafood scissors are a rather handy tool to have around the kitchen especially if you enjoy preparing foods such as lobster or crab legs.
These specially designed scissors have a myriad of uses and make even the most difficult tasks easy when it comes to preparing seafood.
Naturally, a sharp knife or perhaps even a pair of ordinary scissors can also be used for managing and preparing certain types of foods.
However, a pair of seafood scissors can make the job much simpler as this seemingly ordinary item is actually an all-in-one tool you will not want to be without.
When using seafood scissors for preparing lobster, the first step is to use the scissor's handles, which will have serrations for the purpose of cracking claws.
The scissor's curved blades should then be used for cutting through the cracked claw shells to expose the actual meat.
The lobster meat can then be removed mostly intact from the claws as well as the legs and the underside of the body with the blades of the scissors.
The tail is where most of the meat is located and it should be broken away from the rest of the lobster before cutting the shell with the seafood scissors then removing the meat with the blades.
Also, use seafood scissors for deveining shrimp quickly and easily.
Curved seafood scissors are quite helpful as they conform to the shape of the shrimp and the large vein can be removed with the notched end of the scissor's blades.
When it comes to using seafood scissors for preparing king crab legs, use the blades for splitting the knuckle portion and the actual legs to easily remove the meat.
Because of the seafood scissor's uniquely curved blades it is possible to remove the delicate and tender crab meat from the legs without "damaging" any.
