- Abdominal cramping is a common symptom for both patients of Crohn's disease and colitis. This cramping may occur throughout the intestines or at isolated locations.
- Patients of both IBDs experience diarrhea as a symptom.
- Individuals who suffer from either Crohn's disease or colitis may experience blood in their bowel movements or rectal bleeding as a symptom.
- Due to the inflammation of the intestinal lining, nutrients from food are unable to be properly absorbed. This results in unintentional weight loss and potentially dehydration.
- In both Crohn's disease and colitis, individuals may experience abnormal fatigue as a symptom.
